Scanning electron micrographs of gelatin microparticle (a) and particles loaded with Ephedra gerardiana (b) seeded with lung cells. Particles with Ephedra gerardiana extract showed higher cellular attachment and proliferation in comparison with cells on gelatin microparticles alone.
