SEM micrograph of HSF (1184) cells cultured on the scaffolds for three days shows cells in the advanced stage of adhesion, when cells adhere to the surface with short filopodia (black arrows) extending into long conical protrusions (dendritic extensions, white arrows) that interpenetrate into the scaffolds.
