Redox-Responsive Nanophotosensitizer Composed of Chlorin e6-Conjugated Dextran for Photodynamic Treatment of Colon Cancer Cells

Figure 7

(a) Near Infrared florescence images and (b) tumor growth of HCT116 tumor-bearing mouse. 100 μL of 1 mM Ce6 or DEX6ss nanoparticles was injected subcutaneously beside the solid tumor. After that, fluorescence intensity in the tumor region was observed with in vivo fluorescence imaging system. For tumor growth inhibition study, 100 μL of 1 mM Ce6 or DEX6ss nanoparticles was injected subcutaneously to the back of mice. 2 days later after drug injection, mice were irradiated with a 2.0 J/cm2. Tumor volume was measured in 3~4-day intervals. The difference in tumor growth inhibition between Ce6 treatment and DEX6ss nanoparticle treatment was statistically significant (). The presented data was mean ± s.d. from 5 mice. .
