Functional Nanofibers: Production and Applications
Description
Nanofibers, mainly fabricated by electrospinning, are considered as one of the safest nanomaterials due to their extremely long length and their ability to be embedded within other media. Recent advancement in mass production of nanofiber has made it practical to use nanofibers in many emerging fields. In order to enhance the nanofiber capability to use in a particular application, functional nanofibers always serve as a better candidate. The prominent and potential applications of functional nanofibres are in filter media, biosensors, wound dressings, controlled drug release, tissue engineering scaffolds, smart protective clothing, energy, and environment and many other emerging fields.
This special issue is intended to present and discuss recent challenges and technological advancement in production of functional nanofibers and their application in various fields. Therefore, we solicit high-quality, original research articles as well as review articles focused within the subject.
