AP-2 Inhibits c-MYC Induced Oxidative Stress and Apoptosis in HaCaT Human Keratinocytes

c-MYC induced accumulation of ROS in HaCaT cells was partially reversed by AP-2. (a) time course showed that as early as 9 hours after infection, ROS level was higher than control ( .05 versus control, = 3); (b) AP-2 reduced the ROS induced by c-MYC. The intercellular ROS level was measured by DCF method 24 hours after infection. Overexpression of AP-2 alone did not increase ROS level while co-overexpression AP-2 with c-MYC significantly decreased the accumulation of ROS ( .05 versus Bg-II and AP-2; .05 versus MYC, = 3).
