The metabolic cycle is an attempt to encompass traditional and emerging risk factors of CVD associated with NAFLD in one paradigm. The metabolic cycle is also an attempt to provide possible explanation why complex metabolic factors may lead to development of risk of CVD associated with NAFLD. In addition NAFLD per se can be associated with increased risk of CVD.
