Effects of LPS, lutein, and zeaxanthin on viability of uveal melanocytes (UM). Cells were seeded into 96-well plates and treated with LPS, lutein, and zeaxanthin at different levels. Cell viability was determined by MTT assay (see Material and Methods). LPS (a), lutein (b), and zeaxanthin (c) at all tested levels did not affect the viability of UM (expressed as percentage of the controls) ().
