Challenging Glaucomas: Update on Diagnosis and Management
Description
The presence of several different forms of open angle glaucoma, such as pigmentary, pseudoexfoliative, and congenital, makes the diagnosis, the evaluation of progression in time, and therapy difficult and challenging.
The availability of new genetic tools, biotechnology and cellular therapy, may lead to an improvement in diagnosis and management of these conditions. With deeper knowledge of pathogenic mechanisms, more targeted therapeutic strategies and better care may be made available to patients.
We invite the investigators to submit original research and review articles that will contribute to defining of the diagnostic criteria, medical and surgical management, and future therapies to treat successfully this group of diseases. We are particularly interested in articles exploring the current concepts in the diagnosis of these forms of glaucoma, advances in molecular genetics and molecular diagnostics, and novel therapeutic approaches including medical, cellular, and surgical treatments.

- Pigmentary glaucoma
- Pseudoexfoliation glaucoma
- Glaucoma in myopic eyes
- Traumatic glaucoma
- Inherited glaucoma
