Glaucoma Quality of Life

Description

As in all chronic diseases, quality of life is essential for patients. Although the natural history of the disease is well known, information regarding the real impact on patient’s quality of life is lacking. In the last few years there have been many advances in diagnostic, medical, laser, and surgical therapy, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) being the most prominent example. The way we deliver glaucoma care has also been changing with the emergence of telemedicine and patient self-monitoring devices. While many of these advances achieve their desired goals on a scientific level, their acceptance by our patients and their cost effectiveness remain to be determined.

We invite authors to contribute with original as well as review articles that focus on the evaluation on quality of life of glaucoma patients.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Evaluation of the real-life impact of different stages of glaucoma
  • Potential of different diagnostic methods to improve the quality of life of glaucoma patients
  • Evaluation of the impact of different medical/laser/ultrasound/surgical treatments on quality of life and cost effectiveness
