Nanotechnology in Pharmaceutical Sciences
Call for Papers
Nanotechnology is a collective term for a range of technologies, techniques, and processes that involve the treatment of matter at the smallest scale (from 1 to 100 nanometres). It is engineering at the molecular level. Because nanotechnology is classified by the size of the materials being developed and used, the products have little in common with each other — for example, fuel cells, fabrics, or drug delivery systems. What brings them together is the convergence of all basic sciences (biology, physics, and chemistry) at the molecular level.
The main focus of this special issue will be on new and existing nanoformulations for delivery. Today, most harmful side effects of treatments such as chemotherapy are a result of drug delivery methods that do not pinpoint their intended target cells accurately. Reviews that summarize the results of variety of novel formulations are like polymeric nanoparticles, nanocapsules, liposomes, phytosomes, nanoemulsions, microsphere, hydrogels, and so forth. We particularly take interest in the manuscripts that report novel drug development and delivery topics for consideration as original research. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Nanodrug delivery systems
- Drug delivery technologies
- Current trends in new drug development
- Colon drug delivery
- Bioadhesive and mucoadhesive systems
- Nasal and pulmonary drug delivery
- Ocular drug delivery
- Transdermal and topical delivery
- Parental implants and inserts drug delivery
- Osmotically regulated system
- Protein and peptides drug delivery
- Colloidal drug carrier systems
- Solid dispersion or dissolving system
- Biotechnology of pharmaceutical interest
- Colloidal drug carrier system
