The type I error rate is 0.001 based on 500 independent replicates of 200 nuclear families, 50% of which without parental information. Every family contains 3 sibs and at least one is affected. 𝐿𝐷 is the measurement for linkage disequilibrium as defined by Δ in Section 4.1. When 𝐿𝐷 = 0, there is no linkage disequilibrium.
