The tilted grating assisted SPR sensor. The guided mode is scattered into a set of counter-propagating cladding modes via the tilted grating. Some are coupled to the SPP in the thin gold layer deposited on the fiber. The introduction on the analyte on the surface of the metal coating changes the details of the resonances spectra at the output [28, 29].
