Growth inhibition of B. thetaiotaomicron 48 h cultivation after addition of CBS (). The addition of CBS to the growing B. thetaiotaomicron cultures (a) resulted in an inhibition of the maximal cell density in the stationary phase at 48 h after the addition of CBS in a concentration-dependent manner. Figure 1(b) shows a black precipitation in 20 μL droplets from the cultures.
