Growth inhibition of B. thetaiotaomicron 48 h cultivation after addition of CBS ( ). The addition of CBS to the growing B. thetaiotaomicron cultures (a) resulted in an inhibition of the maximal cell density in the stationary phase at 48 h after the addition of CBS in a concentration-dependent manner. Figure 1(b) shows a black precipitation in 20 μL droplets from the cultures.
