Japanese Encephalitis Vaccine Generates Cross-Reactive Memory T Cell Responses to Zika Virus in Humans

<div>Multifunctional characterization of CD8<sup>+</sup>, CD27<sup>+</sup> CD45RO<sup>+</sup> central memory T cell (T<sub>CM</sub>) responses to JEV or ZIKV. CD8<sup>+</sup> T<sub>CM</sub> subpopulations were gated on cells expressing at least one of the five T cell functions analyzed, and the frequency of cells expressing any of the five cell functions was assessed. Vaccinated, <i>n</i> = 18; unvaccinated, <i>n</i> = 7. Results are expressed as mean ± SD. Differences between unmatched groups were compared using an unpaired <i>t</i>-test, the Mann–Whitney <i>U</i> test, or the Kruskal–Wallis rank-sum test with Dunn’s post hoc test for multiple
