Comparison of Oral Tolerance to ApoB and HSP60 Peptides in Preventing Atherosclerosis Lesion Formation in Apob48/Ldlr Mice

Figure 1

Oral Administration of ApoB and HSP60 peptides increases the number of Treg cells in lymphoid organs. Flow cytometry analysis: (a) percentage of CD4+CD25+ FoxP3+ cells within the CD4 population (total Treg cells) in lymph nodes, spleen, Payer’s patches, and PBMC in ApoB peptide and Hsp60 peptide treated compared to control (PBS) three days after the last dose ( ). (b) Percentage of CD4+CD25+ FoxP3+ cells within the CD4 population (total Treg cells) in lymph nodes, spleen, Payer’s patches and PBMC in ApoB peptide and Hsp60 peptide treated compared to control (PBS) eight days after the last dose ( ). (c) Percentage of CD4+CD25+ FoxP3+ cells within the CD4 population (total Treg cells) in lymph nodes, spleen, Payer’s patches, and PBMC in ApoB peptide and Hsp60 peptide treated compared to control (PBS) at the end of the study after 10 weeks of high fat diet feed to induce atherosclerosis ( ).   , , .
