Proteinase-Activated Receptor-1 and Immunomodulatory Effects of a PAR1-Activating Peptide in a Mouse Model of Prostatitis

<table>PAR1 mRNA is expressed in the wild-type mouse prostate. Prostates were treated with sterile saline and sacrificed 2 days posttreatment. Primers specific for mouse PAR1 were used to amplify cDNA that was reverse transcribed from homogenized mouse prostate tissue. RT-PCR lanes from left to right are as follows: primers without cDNA (negative), PAR1 colon cDNA (colon PAR1), PAR1 prostate cDNA (prostate PAR1), and <i>β</i>-actin (<i>β</i>-actin). A 100 bp DNA ladder was used.</table>
