Survival, bacterial clearance and inflammation in Swiss mice pretreated with P1G10 and infected with Salmonella Typhimurium. Survival was evaluated in mice pretreated with 1, 5, or 10 mg/kg of PIG10 intraperitoneally (a). The control groups received PBS (b). The bacterial cell counts in blood, spleen, and the liver were evaluated 24 h and 72 h after infection as well as the total leukocyte cell counts in the peritoneal fluid (c).
