Chitosan Oligosaccharides Attenuate Ocular Inflammation in Rats with Experimental Autoimmune Anterior Uveitis
Figure 3
Evaluation of the protein expression levels of inflammatory mediators at day 14 by western blot analysis. The protein levels of (a) TNF-α, (b) iNOS, (c) MCP-1, (d) RANTES, (e) fractalkine, and (f) ICAM-1 were significantly higher in the PBS-treated group compared with the normal rats. In the COS-treated groups, especially in the high-dose group, the levels of inflammatory mediators were significantly lower than in the PBS-treated group. The data are expressed as the mean ± SD (∗ compared with the PBS-treated group; # compared with the normal group; & compared with the low-dose group by Kruskal-Wallis test with post hoc Dunn test; for each group).
