Effect of Negative Pressure Therapy on the Inflammatory Response of the Intestinal Microenvironment in a Porcine Septic Model

Figure 5

Production of ROS by M1 and M2 macrophages in response to plasma from septic swine in vitro. The production of ROS by human macrophages was induced in vitro with plasma taken from swine at various intervals following the induction of septic injury, and the results are expressed as the difference (Δ) from the initiation of treatment at the 12 hrs interval (), representing a 36 hrs period of treatment. There were no differences between treatment groups when M1 macrophages (a) or M2 macrophages (b) were incubated with plasma.
