Photobiomodulation Therapy Decreases Oxidative Stress in the Lung Tissue after Formaldehyde Exposure: Role of Oxidant/Antioxidant Enzymes

Photobiomodulation therapy reduces generation of H2O2 and NO2 after FA exposure in the lung. Group of rats was exposed or not to FA inhalation (1%, 90 min/day, 3 days) and treated or not with laser (30 mW, 1.8 J, 60 s/point, total 540 s, 1 and 5 h after each FA inhalation). In parallel, group of rats were treated only with laser and nonmanipulated rats were used to obtain basal parameters. The quantification of H2O2 and NO2 (a, b) was determined 24 h after the last FA inhalation. Data mean ± SEM of 6 animals per group. in relation to N and L groups; in relation to FA group.
