Mathematical Aspects of Meshless Methods
Description
Meshless (or meshfree) method is a numerical method developed rapidly in the recent decades. Various meshless methods are presented for solving science and engineering problems, and the corresponding computational efficiency, accuracy, and convergence are studied as well. Meshless methods show some advantages over the traditional computational methods, such as finite element method and boundary element method, especially for problems of extremely large deformation, dynamic fracturing, and explosion.
We particularly take an interest in manuscripts that report relevance of meshless methods in theory and applications. The special issue will become an international forum for researchers to summarize the most recent developments in meshless methods obtained within the last five years, especially new methods and the corresponding mathematical theories. Moreover, the manuscripts on the applications of meshless methods for solving complicated engineering problems are welcome. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Mathematical theories of meshless methods
- Approximation function of new meshless methods
- Improvements of meshless methods
- Mathematical software of meshless methods
- Simulations for complicated engineering problems
- Future strategies of mathematical aspects of meshless methods
Before submission, authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/mpe/guidelines. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/mpe/mamm/ according to the following timetable:
