Mathematical Modeling of Heat and Mass Transfer in Energy Science and Engineering

Call for Papers

Technologically advanced societies have become increasingly dependent on external energy sources for transportation, the production of many manufactured goods, and the delivery of energy services. This energy allows people who can afford the cost to live under otherwise unfavorable climatic conditions through the use of heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning. Level of use of external energy sources differs across societies, as do the climate, convenience, levels of traffic congestion, pollution, and availability of domestic energy sources.

The idea of this special issue of Mathematical Problems in Engineering is to consider the study and applications of mathematical modeling method on energy science and technology. For example, the Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFCs) modeling has become standard module of some commercial software; The U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Rating System (LEEDTM) requires energy modeling to assess the energy use of a building and to quantify the savings attributable to the proposed design; Advanced Modeling and Simulation program was used to improve the reliability, sustain the safety, and extend the life of current reactors.

Therefore, since mathematical modeling and simulation method play a very important role in energy science and technology developments, this call for papers is posted, seeking original research and review papers related to the study and review of the engineering applications devoted to heat and mass transfer on energy science and engineering modeling and simulation. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Renewable energy
  • Advanced energy technology
  • Efficient energy using and saving energy technology
  • Recycling, storing, and reusing energy
  • Energy conversion process
  • Clean energy technology and device
  • Green energy technology
