Distributed Coordination of Multiagent Systems
Description
In recent years, distributed coordination of multiagent systems have attracted a great number of researchers from various fields, owing to its important applications in many areas including distributed formation control, distributed filtering fusion, distributed task assignment, and distributed navigation.
The objective of distributed coordination of multiagent systems is for agents to cooperatively fulfill a task in a distributed manner regarding a certain quantity of interest that depends on the states of all agents. The advances in distributed coordination of multiagent systems have introduced many new ways to study the stability and the performance of multiagent systems. However, the coordination mechanism between agents has not been understood completely especially when constrained conditions such as nonlinearity and time-delay are taken into account, which hinders the development of the control of multiagent systems. This special issue aims to foster the latest development in the system analysis, algorithm design, and significant practical applications in distributed coordination of multiagent systems. We are particularly interested in articles that give new insight into the coordination mechanism between agents. Original researches as well as review articles are also solicited by investigators in this field.
