New Developments in Time-Delay Systems and Its Applications in Engineering
Description
Over the past several decades, there has been an increasing interest in time-delay systems from control scientists and engineers. On one hand, time delays are inherent in various engineering systems such as long transmission lines in pneumatic systems, networked control systems, nuclear reactors, rolling mills, hydraulic systems, and manufacturing. On the other hand, it has been recognized that time delay is often a source of generation of oscillation, instability, or poor performance of underlying control systems. Therefore, for time-delay systems, there are many challenging issues, for example, stability analysis, stabilization, guaranteed cost control, robust performance analysis, and observer design, that need to be solved.
The purpose of this special issue is to provide an opportunity for scientists, engineers, and practitioners to publish their latest theoretical and technological achievements in time-delay systems. All the submissions are expected to have original ideas and new approaches. Papers presenting newly emerging fields are especially welcome. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Modeling of time-delay systems
- Advanced control strategies (such as adaptive control and intelligent control)
- Advances in the theory of stability, stabilization, and robust control
- New results in controllability and observability
- Filtering and estimation
- Networked control systems
- Nonlinear systems
- Fault detection and fault-tolerant control
- Simulation technology and tools
Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/mpe/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/mpe/tdsa/ according to the following timetable:
