Simulation of Cerebral Aneurysm Growth and Prediction of Evolving Rupture Risk

A saccular cerebral aneurysm exposed to an internal pressure 𝑝(𝑡_𝑖) caused by the pulsating blood flow in the parent artery. The internal pressure 𝑝(𝑡_𝑖) causes a stress state in the aneurysm wall, characterised by the Cauchy stress tensor 𝜎(𝜁₁,𝜁₂,𝑡_𝑖). The surface geometry of the aneurysm is parameterised by the two convected coordinates 𝜁₁ and 𝜁₂.
