Aims and Scope
Journal of Cancer Epidemiology seeks to advance the understanding of cancer causation and outcomes with a focus on the molecular events in the multistep pathway to disease. The journal publishes original, peer-reviewed research on the use of molecular markers in cancer research on topics of etiology, prevention, prognosis, and outcomes. The journal also publishes work on the biology of cancer that directly addresses cancer etiology and outcomes, and is derived from research on human subjects. Particularly informative case and case-series histories that illuminate key aspects of cancer etiology and natural history and outcomes will be considered.
The journal encourages submissions on the following topics:
- The link between risk factors and molecular characteristics of tumors.
- Genetic susceptibility and predisposition.
- Mutation and histopathologic classifications of cancer.
- Epigenetic mutation in epidemiology and outcomes.
- Immunologic markers and immunosurveillance.
- Protein-based markers of exposure and/or disease in population-based and clinical studies.
- Development of new markers from high dimension analyses in epidemiology studies.
- Etiology and natural history (timing and molecular causes) in case series or clinical case reports.
- Viruses and viral-related elements in cancer.
