The Plasma Membrane Ca2+-ATPase2 (PMCA2) Is Involved in the Regulation of Purkinje Cell Dendritic Growth in Cerebellar Organotypic Slice Cultures
Figure 2
(a) Size of Purkinje cell dendritic arbors in control and carboxyeosin-treated cultures: The mean size of control Purkinje cells was considered as 100%. Purkinje cell dendritic trees from carboxyeosin-treated cultures were significantly smaller compared to control cultures with (*) for 10 μM carboxyeosin and (**) for treatment with 20 μM carboxyeosin. Error bars represent the SEM. (b) Number of branch points with carboxyeosin: The mean number of branch points of control Purkinje cells was considered as 100%. Carboxyeosin treatment alone showed a reduction of the number of branch points to 73% with 10 μM and 62% with 20 μM compared to control values. These differences were significant with (**) for 10 μM carboxyeosin and with (***) for 20 μM carboxyeosin. Error bars represent the SEM.
