SNI produced significant mechanical allodynia but no thermal hyperalgesia in rats. (a) The 50% paw withdrawal threshold assessed by von Frey filaments was significantly lower after the SNI surgery () compared to the sham () group. Mechanical allodynia was obvious at day 1 and persisted for at least 2 weeks. (b) Paw withdrawal latency measured by radiant heat was not changed after the SNI surgery () compared to the sham () group ( and compared to the sham control at the same time point).
