KV1 and KV3 Potassium Channels Identified at Presynaptic Terminals of the Corticostriatal Synapses in Rat

Nonspecific potassium blockers reveal the presence of presynaptic potassium channels at corticostriatal synapses. (a) Exposure to 4-AP (1 mM) causes an increase in the amplitude of the first synaptic response decreasing PPF. Representative traces recorded from the same slice before (upper trace) and after (lower trace) exposure to 4-AP are shown. (c) A similar effect was observed when applying TEA (1 mM).
