Resveratrol, Acetyl-Resveratrol, and Polydatin Exhibit Antigrowth Activity against 3D Cell Aggregates of the SKOV-3 and OVCAR-8 Ovarian Cancer Cell Lines

Figure 8

The effects of cellular metabolism, growth activity, and modulation of selective proteins following treatment of resveratrol, acetyl-resveratrol, and polydatin in OVCAR-8 spheroids. Resveratrol (a) and acetyl-resveratrol (b) reduced cellular metabolism in a dose-dependent manner. Higher concentrations of both these compounds also reduced growth activity (d and e). Polydatin showed limited effects (c and f). Both resveratrol (g) and acetyl-resveratrol (h) induced the increased expression of 89 kDa PARP-1. The activation of Erk was increased following 5 and 10 μ resveratrol and acetyl-resveratrol exposure. refers to statistically significant as value less than 0.05 compared to the control.
