Trophoblast Stem Cells

Call for Papers

In the study of trophoblastic disease, many trophoblast cell lines have been widely utilized. However, some phenomenon remains not to be clarified yet even though using these existing cell lines. Nowadays, the concept of stem cell including cancer stem cell was launched anticipatorily to solve previous issues. Some tissue-specific stem cells have been practically identified and isolated in other category, applying from bench to bed.

In this special issue, we invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts to establish trophoblast stem cells and clarify the mechanism of trophoblastic disease. We are particularly interested in articles describing the topics of establishment trophoblast stem cells. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Characteristics of trophoblast stem cells
  • Markers to identify and isolate trophoblast stem cells
  • New insights into trophoblast differentiation using stem cells
  • Clinical application using trophoblast stem cells
  • Choriocarcinoma stem cells
