STZ-induced immunosuppressed diabetic mice. (a) Pancreatic sections of both control and STZ-treated mice were stained with H&E for light microscopy examination (magnification, ×40). (c) Pancreatic islet β cells were isolated from control and diabetic mice, and the percentage of β cells that underwent apoptosis was monitored using Annexin V binding assay followed by flow cytometry analysis.
