Intracellular Oxidant Activity, Antioxidant Enzyme Defense System, and Cell Senescence in Fibroblasts with Trisomy 21

Intracellular ATP levels in fibroblasts with trisomy 21 (T21F) () and controls (CF) (). Fibroblasts were grown in 96-well microplates and incubated for one hour with Hank’s buffered salt solution (untreated) or supplemented with 10 mM AAPH or 100 µM TBHP. Intracellular ATP content at low (a) and high (b) passages was expressed as a percentage of mean values obtained in the control group for each treatment. Results are expressed as mean ± SEM of six separate experiments performed in quadruplicate. Statistical differences between CF and T21F were analyzed by Student’s -test: ; ; .
