mtDNA copy content in PBMCs derived from AD, MCI patients and healthy controls. mtDNA content was measured as the amount of cytochrome B copy number (mitochondrial DNA) normalized to 36B4 gene copy number (nuclear DNA) by real time PCR in Spanish (a) and Italian (b) DNA samples.
