Alprazolam Reduces Freezing of Gait (FOG) and Improves FOG-Related Gait Deficiencies

Alprazolam increases swing time during anxiety-inducing walking scenarios, compared to placebo. There were significant main effects of condition and medication. Paired sample t-tests demonstrate a significant increase in swing time while on alprazolam for both HA and LA conditions (HA-plank: t(9) = 2.79, ; HA-pit: t(9) = 3.07, ; and LA: t(9) = 2.45, ). Swing time was similar at the baseline for both medication states (t(9) = 1.08, ). Error bars represent the standard error of the mean (SEM).
