Rosiglitazone Inhibits Adrenocortical Cancer Cell Proliferation by Interfering with the IGF-IR Intracellular Signaling

RGZ blunts IGF-I stimulation of Akt phosphorylation/activation. Western blot analysis of SW13 (a) and H295R (b) cell lysates following 15-minutestimulation with 10 nM IGF-I and 20  M RGZ, reveals an increased phosphorylation of Akt in Ser473 following IGF-I, which is reverted by RGZ. Lane protein normalization for Akt is shown in the middle panels. Molecular weight markers are indicated. Mean SE of phospho-Akt band intensity over Ctrl is shown in 4 independent experiments for SW13 (a) and H295R (b) cells (lower panels). Statistical significance: versus Ctrl or IGF + RGZ.
