Hematoxylin-and eosin-stained tissue sections from control and PFOS treated mice. Control WT and Null mice are shown in panels (a) and (b), respectively. WT and null mice treated with 10 mg/kg/day PFOS are shown in panels (c) and (d), respectively. Vacuole formation was observed in sections from treated WT mice, and in sections from control and treated Null mice. Mice exposed to 3 mg/kg/day PFOS were similar to controls (data not shown).
