Fenofibrate Enhances the In Vitro Differentiation of F o x p 3 + Regulatory T Cells in Mice

The effect of fenofibrate on Tregs did not involve changes in IFN-γ and IL-4 expression. Total T cells (a) and CD4+ T cells (b) were isolated from mouse spleens and induced to differentiate into Tregs with 5 ng/mL TGF-β, 50 U/mL IL-2, 5 μg/mL IFN-γ neutralizing antibody, 5 μg/mL IL-4 neutralizing antibody, and fenofibrate doses indicated. After 4 days of induction, the percentage of Foxp3+ T cells was analyzed by flow cytometry. Numbers in the upper right corner indicate the final concentration of fenofibrate, and the outlined areas indicate Foxp3+ T cells with percentages shown in the lower right corner. Data represent 1 of at least 3 independent experiments.
