Synergistic Antiproliferative Effects of Combined γ-Tocotrienol and PPARγ Antagonist Treatment Are Mediated through PPARγ-Independent Mechanisms in Breast Cancer Cells

Treatment effects of γ-tocotrienol, (a) PPARγ agonists and (b) PPARγ antagonists in combination in +SA cells. +SA cells were plated at a density of 04 (6 wells per group) in 24-well plates and exposed to treatment media for a 4-day period. Afterwards, viable cell number was determined using MTT colorimetric assay. Vertical bars indicate the mean cell count ± SEM in each treatment group. * as compared with vehicle-treated controls and # as compared to their corresponding control treated with γ-tocotrienol alone.
