Rosiglitazone-Mediated Effects on Skeletal Muscle Gene Expression Correlate with Improvements in Insulin Sensitivity in Individuals with HIV-Insulin Resistance

Figure 2

Relationship of changes in PPARγ expression with changes in insulin sensitivity after rosiglitazone treatment. Correlation of the changes in the expression of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma (PPARγ) gene normalized to the expression of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) and the changes in insulin sensitivity in HIV infected subjects with insulin resistance before and after treatment with the PPARγ agonist, rosiglitazone. The data are expressed as the fold changes and the correlation is highly significant ( 𝑟 = 0 . 8 7 , 𝑃 < . 0 0 2 ).
