Carcass Fungistasis of the Burying Beetle Nicrophorus nepalensis Hope (Coleoptera: Silphidae)

Number of control carcasses (untreated, ), treated carcass balls (), washed carcass balls (), protected carcass balls (3.5 g, ), and large protected carcass balls (18 to 22 g, ) on which fungi grew within 14 d. The beetles had opportunity to come into contact with carcass on a protected carcass ball, while beetles were removed at 3 days after burial on a treated carcass ball.
