Differentiating between Hemorrhagic Infarct and Parenchymal Intracerebral Hemorrhage

67-year-old man presented with left-sided hemiparesis. (a) Axial unenhanced CT images 2 hours after stroke show a hematoma lateral to the right lentiform nucleus with minimal surrounding hypodensity (arrow). The caudate nucleus is spared. (b) Similar to Figure 1, there is an area of decreased cerebral blood flow in the area of the hematoma. The overall picture is consistent with intracerebral hemorrhage.
