Human Chondrosarcoma Cells Acquire an Epithelial-Like Gene Expression Pattern via an Epigenetic Switch: Evidence for Mesenchymal-Epithelial Transition during Sarcomagenesis

<table>The methyltransferase inhibitor 5-Aza-dC reactivated both <i>maspin</i> and <i>14-3-3<i>σ</i></i> mRNA expression in chondrocytes and chondrosarcomas cell lines. The CS8E chondrosarcoma cell line and SNM83 normal chondrocyte cell line were exposed to 10 uM 5-Aza-dC. RNA was harvested after 48, 72, and 120 hours and subjected to RT-PCR for <i>maspin</i> and <i>14-3-3<i>σ</i></i>. GAPDH was used as loading control.</table>
