Using a universal MB (UMB) probe as a part of tricomponent X sensor for recognition of specific DNA or RNA sequences [98, 108]. Adaptor and strands hybridize to both analyzed sequence and a universal near-optimal MB probe reporter to form fluorescent tetrapartite complex. Triethylene glycol linkers (TEG) that connect the MB-binding arms with the analyte-binding arms are shown as dashed lines.
