[Retracted] Role of Wheat Based Diet on the Pathology of Necrotic Enteritis in Turkeys

Turkeys of group D (C. perfringens 108 CFU/turkey plus wheat based diet) show lesions: (a) focal necrosis and fibrin accumulation in the lumen of intestine, (b) focal necrosis in duodenum, (c) necrosis of apical portion of villi with fibrinonecrotic exudate associated with large number of rod shaped bacteria, and (d) necrotic villi and presence of fibrin like material in the lumen and aggregation of Gram-positive bacilli clustered around necrotic villi.
