(a) Average daily weight. Even before TNBS induction, the weight of rats from both groups declined. Weight loss between the groups was statistically insignificant prior to TNBS induction. A sharp decrease in weight is seen between Days 8 and 9 because of the overnight fasting. Data expressed as daily group means ± SEM.
