The figure summarises the effect of antiplatelet drugs (aspirin or/and clopidogrel) in patients admitted to an ICU as reported by Winning et al. [33]. Odds ratios for ICU mortality with 95% confidence intervals were calculated by stepwise logistic regression with age, gender, APACHE II score, and preexisting medication with antiplatelet drugs as independent variables.
