New Role for L-Arginine in Regulation of Inducible Nitric-Oxide-Synthase-Derived Superoxide Anion Production in Raw 264.7 Macrophages

L-arginine dose- and time-dependently regulated O 2 production in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. Cells were incubated in L-arginine-free DMEM or DMEM with different concentrations of L-arginine (100, 200, 300, and 400 μM) and stimulated with LPS (50 ng/mL). The O 2 was determined in the cell culture supernatants in indicated times after LPS administration using cytochrome c. Results represent means ± SEM ( 𝑛 = 6 ). 𝑃 < 0 . 0 5 .
