VEGF validation: twenty-four hours after exposure, cell culture supernatants were harvested from THP-1 cells exposed to 0, 0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 Gy of α-particle radiation and X-irradiation. 25 uL of sample was used to determine levels of VEGF secretion using ELISA. *represents 𝑃<0.05, **represents 𝑃<0.01, and ***represents 𝑃<0.001, 𝑛=5 biological replicates performed in duplicate.
