OpaR-dependent promoter activity ofhcp1. A promoter-proximal region 504 bp upstream to 40 bp downstream of hcp1 was cloned into pRBR309 containing a promoterless lacZ reporter gene and then transformed into WT or ΔopaR to determine the β-galactosidase activity in cellular extracts.
